Another gray day in Oslo

What a grey day today in Oslo.

Question for girls: Why do you have to nag in the morning ?

I woke up today, and my girlfriend starts to nag about that I dont wanna work for ONE hour today and earn 28 dollars.. (around 170 norwegian kroner, and you cant buy alot for this)

So she got mad because i did't wanna work....

Unemployment

Yeah...

Currently im unemployed
I resigned my last job because i thought needed to start doing something else. (like studying, or maybe going to Afghanistan)

Well it's not entierly true.. I work as a subtitude teacher at a local elementary school.
But for all the hard work I do with those kids it feels like I get paid in pennies.

It's so frustrating that the money you earn enters your wallet like turtles in slowmotion and leave like duracell rabbits.

For you guys that havent been to Norway, it's freaking expensive.
Students and young people living in a rental apartment know's the meaning of survival.

Sometimes i don't have anything to eat so I'll eat some "Field Rations" that i kept for surviving out in the field... Not home.

Just to give you a picture of the situation:

A pack of cigarets costs 14,5 dollars and a 0,5 l can of beer costs around 5 dollars.
But if you own a car you have to pay :

  •  248 - 496 dollars in yearly annual fee
  • 72 - 90 dollars in road toll (assuming you have a chip in your car)
  • 155-250 dollars in gasoline
So the average amout people pay 361 dollars at ones.

The worst part it that people here in Norway pay more taxes if they earn more money.

In other words... You will never be rich if you have a ordinary job.

Welcome

My name is Peter and im 23 years old guy from Oslo, Norway.

I have lived here almost all my life.

When i was just a kid my family emmigrated from Russia as volleyball athletes.

Since that time we have been working hard to be accepted in the norwegian society.

Personally i've had no problem with being accepted by other ethnicities and cultures, probably because of my acceptence to all people and open mind.

After my highschool graduation i was drafted in the Norwegian Army, served for a year and then volunteered for the Norwegian National Guard.

Now after 4 years in service I have applied for the University in Oslo.

Im still waiting for the results.... I'll come back to that when the time is right.
